Tools you’ll need:
- 10 mm socket
- Ratchet
- Extension
- Drain pan
- New thermostat
- New gasket
- Coolant
Step 1: Let the engine cool completely.
Step 2: Drain some coolant from the radiator.
Step 3: Remove the thermostat housing bolts.
Step 4: Remove the old thermostat.
Step 5: Install the new thermostat with the spring facing the engine.
Step 6: Reinstall the housing, refill the coolant, and bleed the cooling system.
Step 7: Start the engine and check for leaks.
